5 extra tips on how to organize your wardrobe!

5 extra tips on how to organize your wardrobe!

After sharing our previous blog post, and asking them if they thought there were other ways to keep their wardbrobe clean and on point, we thought it's was important to add 5 more tips on how to organize your wardrobe. So, here they go...

1. Compartmentalize drawers/shelves for accessories & underwear

For accessories and underwear, it's a good idea to compartmentalize your drawers  to keep them well separated. To do this, buy clever storage items such as baskets, boxes, storage bins or dividers. You can also reuse shoe boxes, for example. The aim is to keep all your underwear and accessories well separated so you can see them quickly.

Bags and belts can be stored in their original covers to protect them from dust and light if your dressing room is not closed.

2. Adopt the Marie Kondo folding method to organize your dressing room

Marie Kondo recommends folding your T-shirts or sweaters vertically in a drawer instead of horizontally.

This has 3 advantages:

  • You can see all your tops in a matter of seconds;
  • Save considerable space;
  • Minimize the risk of your pretty stack of tops collapsing.

"When you tidy up your home, you also tidy up your past." Marie Kondo.

3. Opt for clever shoe storage furniture and accessories

To store your shoes, we suggest sorting them by type and use. Those you use every day remain in your wardrobe, while all out-of-season or second-hand models (sports, rain or evening shoes) can be stored in boxes at the top of your closet.

To store your shoes properly, there are several solutions:

  • Install a special unit in your hallway, bedroom or dressing room;
  • Install sliding boxes with transparent fronts for quick viewing of your styles;
  • Use the low shelves in your dressing room and store your pairs on Ikea shoe racks, for example.
  • A little extra tip! To store your Camia shoes, we advise you to arrange them neatly in a shoe cabinet or on a shelf, remember they are made of genuine leather and this makes them durable but at the same delicate. For our straps, group them in compartmentalized drawers to keep them neatly separated. This way, your Camia sandals will be well preserved and neatly stored in your closet. Ideally close to your shoes!

4. Organize your dressing room at least twice a year

To keep your closets from becoming chaos again, we recommend that you sort your wardrobe at least twice a year. March-April or September-October are ideal times to organize your closets. As well as saving you time and space, these big clean-ups allow you to clear your head.

It's also a good way to let go of negative emotions such as anxiety and stress. Indeed, cleaning and tidying lighten the mind.

5. Buy less, but better

To maintain a tidy dressing room over the long term, nothing beats an eco-responsible attitude. We recommend building a minimalist wardrobe that guarantees good basics with the minimum of clothing. No need to buy 10 different pairs of shoes, thanks to Camia's interchangeable sandals, which let you change your style with the same pair of shoes.

All in all, as mentioned in our previous post, tidying up your dressing room is will also lighten your mind. In this way, it boosts your self-confidence and promotes your well-being. Organizing your dressing room also boosts productivity, encourages concentration and creativity.

Pick a rainy weekend, put some music on and start organizing your closet!
