How to Get Your Shoe Size Right – Foot Measuring Guide

Step-by-Step: How to Measure Your Feet Accurately at Home

Finding the perfect fit starts with knowing your exact foot measurements. Getting the right size ensures comfort and prevents issues like blisters or tightness. Follow these simple steps to measure your feet accurately at home.

What You’ll Need:
  • A sheet of paper (A4 or larger)
  • A pen or pencil
  • A ruler or measuring tape
  • A hard, flat surface

Step 1: Prepare Your Foot for Measurement

  • Place a sheet of paper on a hard, flat floor (avoid carpets).
  • Stand with your full weight on your foot—this ensures the most accurate size.
  • Position your heel against a wall for extra accuracy.

Step 2: Trace Your Foot (Correctly!)

💡 Tip: If possible, ask someone to help trace your foot for better precision.

  • Hold a pen or pencil upright (90° angle)—do not slant it under your foot.
  • Carefully trace around your foot, ensuring the line follows your foot’s shape without cutting in.
  • Make sure the pencil stays outside your foot, not beneath it—this prevents measuring too small.

Step 3: Measure Foot Length

  • Use a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Measure from the tip of your longest toe to the back of your heel (in centimeters or inches).
  • Write this number down—it’s your foot length.

Step 4: Measure Foot Width

  • Identify the widest part of your foot (usually around the ball of your foot).
  • Measure the width with a ruler or tape measure and write it down.

Step 5: Find Your Perfect Fit

Compare your measurements with our size guide to find the best match.

Keep in mind that sizes can vary depending on whether it is an open or closed shoe, so always check the chart before ordering.

Extra Tips for the Best Fit:

Measure both feet – One foot is usually slightly larger. Use the bigger measurement.
Measure at the end of the day – Feet swell throughout the day, so measuring in the evening gives a more realistic size.
Wear the socks you’d typically use – If you’ll wear socks with your shoes, measure while wearing them.
Double-check your tracing – Ensure you didn't angle the pencil under your foot, as this can lead to a smaller measurement.
